Professional Category

The professional category is a juried exhibition.

Artists in this category must submit 3-4 images of their Plein Air artwork in JPEG format with a resolution no less than 300dpi (max 1400 pixels on the longest side) as part of the application process. Along with the submission form found on the REGISTRATION tab.

Submission deadline for juried category is MONTH DATE. Submission fees are $35.00 You will be notified via email on DATE. Submission fees are non-refundable.

Professional category will compete for prize money. All paintings created during the week will be available for live auction at our culminating outdoor Art Party. MMBA will retain a 25% commission on all sold artwork.

You may paint 3 canvases and submit the best 2 for auction. All artists must be 18 years or older to receive prize money.

All artists and the public are invited to the party where we will have live music, wine, light bites, and raffle prizes. Buyers will be able to preview your work prior to sales.

Professional category artists may also enter a quick draw competition for an extra fee.

Artists in the professional category may place reserves on their artwork for auction.

Quick Draw Competition

The quick draw competition will be held on Saturday from 2-5pm at State Park Boardwalk and Marina Area located at 10 State Park Road – across from the Morro Bay Golf Course and Campground area.

The quick draw competition is open to all professional category artists. Please indicate on the registration form that you will be participating in the quick draw competition.
